Steve Cavanaugh: This Mover and Shaker is a giver, not a taker!  Meet Steve Cavanaugh, president and CEO of Cavanaugh & Associates, an engineering and surveying firm in Winston-Salem.  Steve believes the most important thing in life is applying your gifts - that this life is not about dollars, it's about taking what you have been entrusted with and making the most of it.

Steve practices this philosphy in his company and in his commitment to family and community.  He is a native of Winston-Salem and an engineering graduate from NC State.  He launched his career working for a large firm, and in 1995, he opened his own firm with a healthy dose of self confidence and pride.  After 12 years in business, and the necessary mistakes along the way, Steve is a humble leader dedicated to sharing ownership of the firm with his team.  This mutual commitment, between leader and staff, has created a fertile ground for professional and personal development.

Outside of the office, Steve serves on the board of the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, as a volunteer with Crisis Control Ministries, and as an Elder at Highland Presbyterian Church, just to name a few of his associations.  At home he enjoys spending time with this three girls...wife Tonya and daughters Ashley and Lilly.

This year, Steve is working toward transforming his company into a giving organization by rolling out a new charitable giving campaign in each of his offices.  He is looking forward to sharing the company's success with the community - no doubt, Steve is a positive force in the Triad.
